I created a questionnaire and handed it out to a group of my target market:

After a group of my target audience filled in the questionnaire, I analysed the data to help me know what are the best things to include in my album cover.

 

When I asked what genre of music they usually listen to, the majority replied they listened to 'Pop' and 'R&B/Hip Hip'. This is good because that means they are definitely my target audience. 

When I asked my target audience what attracts them to an album cover, the majority of them replied with the 'artist', followed closely by the 'images'. Therefore, I will make sure that the name and faces of my artists are clearly presented on my album cover. I will also make sure that I choose my images carefully, as my target audience have proven that it is an important factor of the album cover.

When I asked my targt audience what colours they would expect to see on an album cover for a Pop/R&B girl group, the majority of them answered with 'white', 'yellow' and 'gold'. I will definitely try to include these colours into my album cover, not only because of this feedback, but because these colours can be associated with happiness, thus making it relate to my album title.

When I asked my target audience what they think should essentially be included on an album cover, the majority of them responded with the 'Artist's Face' and the 'Artist's Name'. I will definitely be including this, not only because of my questionnaire results, but also because it is an album cover convention.

There was a variety of answers in response to the question 'is a song's album cover just as important as the song itself?', but the majority of my target audience replied with 'slightly important'. This means that my album cover must be designed well, as it it reasonably significant.

The majority of my target audience said that they would be willing to pay £4 - £7 for an album. Therefore, I will price my album at £7.00.
